Dan Kowalski - co-producer, filmmaker

Dan's love and appreciation for wilderness started in the mountains of Colorado. He studied Visual Communications at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Dan makes his home and livelihood in the Pacific Northwest where he combines filmmaking, wilderness guiding, and commercial fishing in Alaska.

Dan is married to Melissa, has two children and lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington.

Kurt Hoelting - co-producer, writer

Kurt is a native of the Pacific Northwest. He attended the University of Washington and Harvard Divinity School where he received his Masters in Divinity. Drawing on his experience as a United Church of Christ minister, Zen student and wilderness guide, Kurt founded Inside Passages, an organization that takes professionals on sea kayaking meditation retreats in Alaska's Tongass National Forest. A writer and commercial fisherman, Kurt also leads contemplative retreats for activists and religious leaders in the Lower '48.

Kurt is married to Sally Goodwin, has two children and lives on Whidbey Island, Washington.
